Lovely Handprints

My 3 year old has been on this "art kick" where he wants to create and make art all day, every day. So I found this neat little project worth sharing. :) All you need is 1 cup of flour, 1 cup of salt, and 1/2 cup of water. We are making "salt-dough" here.

Mix it until everything is well blended. Then basically if the mixture is too sticky add a bit more flour and if it is too dry add a bit more water. I only had to add a tiny bit of flour to ours. Then just let the kids knead away for a while. It's fun for them all on it's own!
(Don't mind his spaghetti-o face lol)
I then separated it into 2 balls so we could do both Jakobi and Jaxon's little handprints. I pressed it into a bowl and peeled it off so I could get the smooth side to imprint on.

Jakobi did his own but I had to redo Jaxon's a couple of times, he just wanted to squeeze it every time I stuck his little hand in the dough :)

If you are planning on hanging these, make holes for ribbons in advance! I made one on each side for easy hanging. Then put them in the oven at 200F, I wouldn't put them in for any higher temp because I believe they will rise and we don't want that. The thicker you make these the longer you will need to leave them in there to dry out. I left mine in the oven for about 4 hours but they were pretty thick and I also flipped them over towards the end.

After they are all done and cooled off then the kiddos get to have even more fun by painting them. Jakobi wanted his to look like a sun so I got some yellow paint and I got to pick out Jaxon's color ;) since he couldn't. Jakobi did a swell job painting these though.

I then just added the ribbons and their names and they are ready to hang!
Easy peasy lemon squeezy!

Shipwrecked in Paradise

I've been broke lately but I love Pretty Addictions mineral cosmetics. It's an indie company with a fabulous person behind the creations. I HAD to purchase at least some of the new collection she recently came out with and thought I would share with you guys. Her colors are super and easily blend-able and highly pigmented. I am never any less than impressed with her products!
^check out her products. You will be in <3

Quaker Soft Baked Oatmeal Cookies

Who doesn't love cookies? They're made with whole grain quaker oats. Individually packaged which means you have to open another one if you want to over indulge! lol. Provides a good source of fiber and contains 6 grams of total fat per serving. You can find Quaker Soft Baked Oatmeal Cookies at most major retailers.
Suggested retail price: $2.69 for a box of 6 cookies. I LOVE soft cookies so I am a sucker for these. Me and Jakobi split this and his half was gone in less than 2 seconds. Most of my pantry is made up of Quaker products so why not cookies too?! I'm thinking they would taste great warmed, like a fresh out of the oven home made cookie! 5 Stars.
I received this product to test and review complimentary from Influenster.

The Many Uses Of Ivory

So I received a bar of Ivory soap courtesy of Influenster and Ivory in my complimentary Mom Vox Box to test out. I was trying to think of a way to do a review on this item and I decided I would try to do as many quick things as I could think of with the one bar of soap! Jakobi and I cut off a small chunk of the soap and popped it in the microwave for about 45 seconds.
It grows about 6 times its size. Really cool to watch and looked like a big fluffy cloud. It weighed next to nothing. Then we started crumbling it up and I decided to save all of that to use as laundry powder! It doesn't take alot, I've been using a small measuring scoop. It leaves my clothes smelling fresh and clean.

And of course we've been using it in the shower. Very gentle and even good to use on your face. I liked that I could take one little bar and do so many things with it. It has many uses and the cleaning power is great. Ivory is very inexpensive compared to alot of brands. I can see myself buying more and also making my own laundry soap more often. Compared to $10 at least for a thing of laundry detergent, Ivory only costs $1-$2 a bar and can make just as much! It's totally fun to make and the kids love it! I would give this an A+ definitely!

imPRESS press on manicure

I received the imPress press on manicure in my vox box from influenster. i got this product complimentary to test. well, let me say imPRESSive! I'm not big on press on or fake nails because they tend to hurt my fingers. These were totally quick to put on. the glue was kind of a gel which made them really comfy. They lasted 7 days before the first one came off and I had to remove the rest of them..was tempted to slap a band-aid over it though! This was all after unloading a truck 2 days at my job and being submerged in water for alot of the rest of those days. I will have to say i am SOLD on this product. It was great and highly recommended. I will be purchasing in the future. Ive already scoped out the local CVS for them :) I give this product a 10/10 because I can say they put up and lasted through ALOT! http://www.impressmanicure.com/ Click the link to get yours. I know our CVS has them so they are pretty easy to find. They have some really cute patterns and colors to try!
